At Hypernode, we strive to make the process of upgrading or downgrading your hosting plan as easy as possible for everyone. Vertical autoscaling, in other words means upgrading your plan automatically when your server needs it, so you don’t need to worry about constant monitoring. 

Through the Hypernode Control Panel, you can easily modify your current plan to a larger or smaller version. Your plan will be upgraded to the next possible plan within the same provider, increasing your resources while keeping the disk size the same. The upgrade is effective for 24h, after which your Hypernode will return to your regular plan.

We employ a live volume swapping method, where we install a new Hypernode without copying the data over the network to the new hosting environment. Next, we detach the volume using the API and mount it on the new machine before adjusting the DNS. This process is similar to swapping a hard drive from one computer to a larger one. 

This approach offers significant time savings, particularly in scenarios where numerous files on the disk can change during a traditional migration, resulting in longer downtime during the second synchronization.
