Sales and Account Manager

Please note: candidates living outside of the EU will not be considered. Native level Dutch is required for this position.

Your responsibilities are:
  • Closing the deal; enlisting new Magento and Shopware agencies as a Hypernode partner, pinpointing, evaluating and meeting the needs of warm leads, being great at explaining our added value;
  • Upselling; getting our partners to do more business with us;
  • Account management; keeping our partners happy & helping our partners grow, lead management of ‘end customers’, finding mutual benefits;
  • Representation; active presence and/or speaker at e-commerce events;
  • Product feedback; discuss agency needs with the team, deliver input for the product roadmap.
Your opportunity:

You are responsible for setting up your own sales funnel, closing the deal and grow the partnership: accounts are your responsibility from a-z! You’ll follow up leads that come in through our website, phone or email, set up and attend appointments with potential partners, travel to (international) e-commerce events and regularly visit our partners and larger clients. Networking is your forte, and you can easily combine IT geekiness with commercial smalltalk to achieve your targets. Although we have a support team to back you up when needed, you know a thing or 2 about our product and can help our new partners get started and become Hypernode’s newest raving fans.

What your day will look like:

As Hypernode hosts webshops that are built with an open source framework like Magento or Shopware, your goal is to become actively known in these communities. This means you follow conversations online (in Slack communities for instance), meet with influencers to hear the latest trends, and regularly attend (online) e-commerce events both nationally and internationally.

International travel (once fully possible again) will be part of your job for about 10-20% of your time. Leads (potential partners and larger clients) come in through marketing campaigns, support or directly via the website or phone.

Your goal is to follow these up and qualify them, so you build your own sales funnel. We work with FreshSales and Hubspot to detect new leads. You are also expected to find leads yourself through your network: word of mouth is a big success strategy for us. Your targets (number of new partners, revenue generated through new business as well as account management) are set annually.

You attend our weekly sales- and marketing meeting to stay updated on the key initiatives of your team members. You are expected to work at the office at least 1 day a week, but you are welcome to work there fulltime if you please, although we expect you to be on the road to meet with (potential) partners and close deals most of the time ;).

The past 1.5 years we have been working mostly remote, and travel to events and clients was impossible. This has proven to be a challenge for sales, as we used to do most of our sales in person. Finding new leads and following them up completely digitally has been our reality since the pandemic and it will probably continue to be at least part of your job, so you should be prepared for that!

Hypernode’s growth is a team effort that is measured monthly, and changes in strategy, if necessary, are discussed in the team afterwards. Your participation in this is very important, as you are our direct link with the market.

What you have: 
  • Strong sales experience (at least 2 years) and proven success within a SAAS or other technology led company
  • Ambitious, eager to score
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel & flexible in working hours (in relation to time zones)
  • Fluent in English with at least one additional European language preferred
  • Affinity with ICT/hosting/e-commerce
  • HBO+ education level
A note on remote

Covid has changed how we work, in many ways for the better! While we can’t wait for offices to re-open, being at the office isn’t always needed to get the best out of your day.
